The Freemont Street Experience -

Freemont Street is “the strip” for real Las Vegas where Vegas has its roots before the mega-resorts took over.  The new "strip" is really not in Las Vegas at all but rather Clark County.  So if you want to have some fun with old school Vegas flavor, Freemont Street is the place to go.  There are numerous classic Vegas casinos here including Golden Nugget, Binions, Four Queens, etc.  There are also numerous bars, restaurants, attractions, etc.  You can even zip line from several stories up outside the covered area to half way down the street.

The Freemont Street Experience is a light show held at night via a canopy that has been installed over five full blocks of Freemont Street comprising more than 12 million LED lights and 220 speakers.  Beginning at dusk, and varying based on the length of the shows for that day, typically shows occur every 30 to 60 minutes.  The schedule can be found on the Viva Vision section of the Freemont website linked above.

If you're looking for a strong drink, near the end of the Experience canopy, there's an iced beverage place out on the street that sells a 32-ounce iced Long Island Iced Tea that will definitely get you where you want to be.
