Pricing and services:  Hussong's is a great place to hold your meet and greet or rehearsal dinner.  They have very economical group dining plans that can accommodate groups up to 200 guests.  The size options include:

  • Semi-private (i.e. some other guests may pass through on occasion to get to the restrooms) covers up to 80 guests
  • Cocktail reception covers up to 100 guests
  • Private (i.e. no one passes through your party) for up to 150 guests
  • Full buyout of the entire restaurant covers up to 200 guests

At the time I utilized Hussong's in summer-2011, they had options for an appetizer of chips and salsa along with guests' choice of three entree's and desert for $25 per person.  If you upgrade that to three choices of appetizers (quesadillas, sopes or elote plazero) along with the three entree choices, the price changes to $35 per person.  Next up, for $45 per person, you upgrade both the appetizers and entrees to things like ceviche and lobster.

Cocktail receptions are only $15 per person, per hour.  They include the chips and salsa, quesadillas and sopas, or a taco cart.

Now the good stuff; BOOZE!  Beer and wine are $12/hour per guest.  Call brand liquor (and beer & wine) is $20/hour per guest.  Super-premium is $30/hour per guest.

Last but not least, the most overlooked part of what Hussong's offers; the Mariachi band.  On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, the restaurant has a three-piece mariachi band.  They will move around the restaurant playing for all the guests, and this is no normal mariachi band.  They'll play traditional Latin songs, but they seem to know nearly every other song you can think up, even if it's a song that has no business being played by a mariachi band lol.  Seriously though; they're incredibly entertaining; at our rehearsal dinner we had them playing everything from Neil Diamond songs to hip-hop; our guests absolutely loved them.

My thoughts:

My wife and I held our rehearsal dinner at Hussong's on a Friday night before our wedding for about 45 guests.  We were able to give our guests a great two-hour reception that included premium bar and several food choices for $45/per person.  Other than the normal gratuity and tax, there was no further charges for renting the room or anything like that.  This is in stark contrast to some of the other ridiculous things other venues on the strip will try to charge you; for example, Margaritaville quoted us $6000 for the same sized party in their 2nd floor room and that was WITHOUT any booze; seriously.  Hussong's really took care of us, and the drinks were STRONG.   Between the great food, strong drinks and ridiculous mariachi band, we would not have gotten a better value for our money; everyone loved it and we got some hilarious pictures.
