The Palms is located off-strip a few blocks from Caesars, near the Rio.

From a gaming perspective, the only reason I mention the Palms is because, thanks to their night life and relentless pursuit of celebrities by way of comps, it's probably the casino you can play at where you're most likely to see a celebrity.  From a straight gaming standpoint, I wouldn't waste my time; their comps for us normal folks up to at least the $250/avg bet range are not up to par with the Total Rewards or MGM properties.  However, if it's a Friday or Saturday night, and you don't mind plunking down $25 minimum bet at table games, you may just see someone you recognize.  For example, I was there playing craps on a Friday night in 2010 and next thing you know I'm standing next to Nelly; he had a pretty decent roll too, made me some money lol.

Another point of concern over the Palms is that thanks to their constant courting of celebrities for parties, you may want to avoid going there on those nights because people coming to hope to see them by waiting in a five hour long line to get in a club will completely fill the areas outside the guest elevators, the N9NE steakhouse, the area to get to the penthouse elevators and Moon nightclub, etc.  The place is completely ridiculous on those nights and unless you enjoy pushing through people just to get to your room, or waiting in five hour lines, its not worth it.
